Franklin Delano Hornbeck
Franklin Delano Hornbeck, age 74, of Buckhannon, WV died Monday, January 14, 2008 at his home. He was born April 21, 1933 on Sand Run in WV, a son of the late Benjamin Isaac and Jessie Pearl Rowan Hornbeck. On May 17, 1985 he married M. Eileen Wright Hornbeck who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Margie Elaine Abshire and husband Steve of Hartselle, AL and Cindy P. Hornbeck of Warren, OH; one son, Randall Franklin Hornbeck of Hartselle; one step daughter, Carolyn Anne Wilson and husband John of Ocean City, MD; four grandsons, Nathan Franklin Hornbeck of Buckhannon, Jason Franklin Hornbeck of Decatur, AL, Marcus Edward Barnovsky of Elyria, OH and Travis Stephenson Abshire of Hartselle; one granddaughter, Justine Marie Barnovsky of Elyria; two sisters, Helen Suder and husband Alva of Minerva, OH and Barbra White and husband Scott of Buckhannon and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Nellie Pearl (Woofter) Hornbeck and one brother, Lewis Eugene Hornbeck. Mr. Hornbeck was a pipe fitter for Copperweld Steel. He was a member of the Buckhannon Moose Lodge # 598 and he served in the US Army during the Korean War. Friends will be received Friday, January 18, 2008 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Bradley Tenney officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Union Church Cemetery at Tallmansville, WV. Buckhannon VFW Post # 3663, Frank B. Bartlett Post # 7 American Legion, DAV Chapters # 5 and # 36 will conduct military honors at the graveside. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
