Obituary of Dora Danforth Levister

Dora Danforth Levister, went home to be with The Lord on October 5, 2024, at St. Joseph’s Nursing Facility in Buckhannon, WV. She was born, August 11, 1935, in Pikeville, KY a daughter of the late Lee Frank and Evelyn Mullins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, David Allen Danforth; one daughter, Rita Sue Reihing, and one grandson, Paul Peyton. She is survived by, two sons, Avery Belcher and wife Royce of Akron, OH and Harvey Belcher of Landson, SC; three daughters, Tammy Murrell and husband Jerry, Darlene Sellars and husband Rob, and Dorene Tenney and husband Samuel all of Buckhannon, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dora worked many years as a daycare provider and then as a senior companion caregiver. She was a Christian by faith and a member of The Way of Holiness Church. Friends will be received Wednesday, October 9, 2024, from 2 PM to 3 PM at The Way of Holiness Church. A funeral service will be held at 3 PM at the church with Pastor Jerry Murrell officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Tallmansville, WV. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
