Obituary of Loretta Lucille Gillespie

Loretta Westfall Gillespie, age 87, of Buckhannon, WV, died Saturday, November 16, 2024, at WVU Medicine St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon. She was born June 10, 1937, in Buckhannon, a daughter of the late John Aldo and Edith Hope Lanham Jack. On April 11, 1981, she married Larry Gillespie who preceded her in death on October 19, 2020. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by  two sons, Mike and Brad Westfall; one grandson, Seth Gillespie; one sister, Dorothy Hayhurst and three brothers, Russell, Gary and Jim Lee Jack. She is survived by one son, Mark Westfall and wife Teresa of Buckhannon; one step son, Larry Gillespie and wife Cindy of Buckhannon; one step daughter,  Stephanie Gillespie of Nokomis, FL; eleven grandchildren, Jason Westfall and wife Sheena and Josh Westfall and wife Christine all of Buckhannon, Jennifer Westfall of Key West, FL, Jaeneika Westfall, Whitney Powell and husband Scott, Jordan Westfall and wife Brittany, Dalton Westfall and wife Andrea and Kyle Gillespie and wife Whitney all of Buckhannon, Sophia Gillespie of Nokomis, FL and Jenna  Westfall and Sidney Westfall both of Bridgeport, WV; seventeen great grandchildren, Jaden, Jevon, Jarron, Jayla, Jace, Juliana and Judson Westfall, Macey and Madison Powell, Bryson, Ellie, Grant, Griffin and Liam Westfall and Braely, Aubree and Raegan Gillespie; one brother, Bobby Jack and wife Mary Jane of Buckhannon and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Gillespie was a Christian by faith and worked at Kroger’s for over 29 years. In honoring Mrs. Gillespie’s wish, she will be cremated. A private burial will take place at a later date in the Rock Springs Cemetery. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
